In just 10 minutes, we will reach the Georges Island Port, where you can explore the island at your own pace. Home to the historic Fort Warren, Georges Island features one of the largest Civil War recreations in the country. The fort, constructed in 1833, was built to protect the area during the war. You can also enjoy walking through the island's forests and take in views of the Halifax coast.
Return to Halifax
To return to Halifax from Georges Island, you can take any ferry departing from the island's port. The ferry operates between Georges Island and Halifax from 10:20 am to 3 pm, with a frequency of every 40 minutes.
