Georges Island Ferry

Meet at the Cable Wharf along the Halifax waterfront to catch the ferry to Georges Island. The journey takes just 10 minutes to reach Georges Island Port, where you can explore at your leisure. The island is home to the historic Fort Warren and hosts one of the largest Civil War recreations in the country.

Constructed in 1833, Fort Warren was built to protect the area during the war. You can research the region's history and stroll through the island's forests, enjoying views of the Halifax coast.
