Historic Hanover Guided Tour

At the indicated time, we’ll meet at Ernst-August-Platz 8, in the heart of Hanover, for a walking tour of this historic city.

We will pass sites marked by the devastation of World War II, where 90% of Hanover’s city centre was destroyed by the end of the war.

Our first stop will be the Leineschloss, the former residence of kings and dukes, now home to the Lower Saxony state parliament, built in 1637, which has seen various renovations.

As we continue through Hanover’s Old Town, we’ll view the city’s iconic half-timbered medieval houses and discover hidden corners with pubs and cafés.

Next, we’ll visit the New Town Hall, designed by Herman Eggert and Gustav Halmhuber, completed in 1913 after 12 years of construction.

Afterwards, we’ll visit the Hanover Opera House, originally built in 1852, which was heavily damaged in World War II but has been beautifully restored. It seats 1,202 guests.

Finally, after 2 hours, we'll conclude the tour back at the starting point.
