Learn about the Cuban Revolution with this tour of Havana and find out about the movement that led Fidel Castro to power.
Havana Walking Tour
We'll meet at 10 am by the José Martí statue in Central Park to start this tour. The first stop will be the Bacardi building, where we will discuss the building's history post-1959. Next, we will pass a grocery store to learn about the country's food rationing and the relationship between the Cuban government and the Catholic Church, particularly regarding Operation Peter Pan, which transported over 14,000 children from Cuba to the U.S.
We will then visit the Museum of the Revolution to see the Granma Yacht, used by Fidel Castro during the Bay of Pigs invasion. After the museum, we'll proceed to the Spanish Embassy and a primary school to learn about education on the island since the Revolution.
Next, we will admire the National Capitol Building, followed by a bus ride to the Plaza de la Revolución, lasting 20 minutes where we will discuss the history of this transport. In the plaza, we will see the notable building featuring Che Guevara. The tour concludes at 1 pm.
