Yoruba Religion Tour
At 10 am, our journey into the Yoruba religion begins at Central Plaza. We will walk to the Casa de Africa Museum.
During the 15-minute walk, we will proceed along the iconic Obispo Street, where you may encounter santeros (Yoruba priests) in their first year of initiation, dressed in traditional white attire.
Upon reaching the museum, you will learn about the profound secrets of the Yoruba religion, which originated in West Africa and arrived in Cuba during the colonial period through enslaved individuals. Santería may be familiar to you.
A brief drive will take us to Hamel Alley, a central point of Afro-Cuban culture in the city. Here, enjoy typical music and vibrant murals. You will have free time to explore this area independently.
We will then visit the home of a santera, an intriguing location in Havana. The priestess will share insights into various rituals of the Yoruba religion. Feel free to ask her about your future.
Our guided tour concludes around 2 pm as we return to the starting point.
