Yoruba Religion Tour
At 10 am, our journey into the Yoruba religion begins as we gather at Central Plaza. From there, we'll stroll towards the Casa de Africa Museum.
During the 15-minute walk, we will pass through the iconic Obispo Street. Look for santeros (Yoruba priests) in their first year of initiation, wearing traditional white attire.
Upon reaching the museum, you will explore the profound secrets of the Yoruba religion, which originated in West Africa and arrived in Cuba during the colonial period through enslaved individuals. Santería is a related concept.
A brief drive will then take us to Hamel Alley, a key location for Afro-Cuban culture. Here, you will enjoy the music and admire the vibrant murals on the walls, with some free time for exploration.
We will also visit the home of a santera, where the priestess will provide insights into the various rituals of the Yoruba religion. You may ask her about your future if you wish.
Our guided tour concludes around 2 pm as we return to the starting point.
