Volcanoes National Park Hike
If you're on the Island of Hawaii and seeking adventure, a hike around Volcanoes National Park is essential. We'll meet at the indicated time at K?lauea Visitor Center to commence this hiking route.
Initially, we'll descend into the Halema?uma?u Crater of K?lauea Volcano. In our first mile, we will observe the remnants of an active volcano, including steam vents and sulphur banks.
As we continue, our path will lead through a rainforest filled with tree ferns, ohia trees, and honeycreeper birds. This area features vibrant flora that highlights adaptations enabling survival within the volcanic crater's environment.
Upon reaching the K?lauea lava lake, we will pause to admire this pool of molten lava. Following this, our hike will proceed to a viewpoint offering expansive views of the K?lauea crater and Mauna Loa in the distance. There is a possibility of witnessing a K?lauea eruption during this segment.
After a total of 3 hours hiking around Volcanoes National Park, we will return to our starting point and conclude our adventure.
