Volcanoes National Park Hike
Join us for a hike through Volcanoes National Park on the Island of Hawaii, starting at the K?lauea Visitor Center at the indicated time. This hike includes a descent into the Halema?uma?u Crater of K?lauea Volcano, where you'll see active volcanic features such as steam vents and sulphur banks within the first mile.
The trail then proceeds through a rainforest filled with tree ferns, ohia trees, and honeycreeper birds, highlighting the unique flora adapted to thrive in this volcanic environment. Upon reaching the bottom of the K?lauea crater, you will encounter the K?lauea lava lake, a notable feature of the park.
To conclude the hike, we will reach a viewpoint offering views of the K?lauea crater and Mauna Loa in the distance. If fortunate, participants may witness a K?lauea eruption. The total duration of the hike is 3 hours, after which we will return to the starting point.
