3-Day Tour of Crete

On this 3-day tour of Crete from Heraklion, we will explore places such as Arkadi Monastery, and the cities of Vatos and Zaros, immersing ourselves in Greek culture.

Tour Description

Day 1: Heraklion - Gortyna - Festo - Matala - Zaros

We will pick you up at the specified time in front of Hari’s Creperiê and drive to Gortyna, the ancient Roman capital of Crete. After exploring Gortyna, we will visit the archaeological site of Festo, a significant Minoan site. Next, we will stop at Matala for free time to swim and have lunch. We will then reach the village of Zaros, known for its natural springs. After settling into your accommodation, enjoy free time to explore before a typical Cretan dinner with a show.

Day 2: Zaros - Vatos - Spili - Lampini - St. Antonio's Gorge - Rethymno

After breakfast, we will depart for Vatos to stroll its streets and visit a museum of farming tools and a raki distillery. Next, we will visit Spili, known for its Venetian fountain, followed by lunch. We will proceed to Lampini to visit the church of Panagia and its museum, then walk through St. Antonio's Gorge. After arriving in Rethymno, enjoy the afternoon free to explore.

Day 3: Rethymno - Margarites - Arkadi Monastery - Heraklion

After breakfast, we will leave at 9:30 am for Margarites, known for its pottery. We will proceed to Arkadi Monastery, important in Cretan history. Before returning to Heraklion, we will explore the old town of Rethymno and visit the Venetian fortress of Fortezza. The tour concludes at 6 pm at the same pickup point in Heraklion.

Zaros: Idi Hotel (2*)Rethymno: Ideo Hotel or similar (3*)

In case of unavailability in Zaros, we will stay in Heraklion at Marin Hotel or similar.
