Feel like a trip to paradise? On this day trip to Preveli beach from Heraklion, you'll have the opportunity to visit one of the most beautiful sandy beaches on the island of Crete.

Day Trip to Preveli Beach

We'll pick you up at 8 am at your hotel in Heraklion, and from there we'll set off towards the southern coast of Crete.

At around 11 am we'll arrive at the Preveli beach, where you'll have four hours of free time to enjoy the unique natural enclave. The bus will drop you off at a parking lot close to the cove, from where you'll walk about 15 minutes down steps to the beach.

Preveli beach is situated between breathtaking cliffs and the mouth of the Megalos Potamos river. Before emptying into the Mediterranean, the river creates an oasis-like lagoon surrounded by palm trees at the shore. This area was the main hippie destination on the island of Crete from 1960 to 1980.

You can explore the lagoon, the beach, and various lookout points. The cove also features a small restaurant serving delicious Greek cuisine.

At 3 pm, we'll pick you up at the parking lot of Preveli to begin our return trip to the capital. We expect to arrive back at your hotel between 5 and 5:30 pm.
