If you want to learn about the history of Crete and discover all about the Minoan culture, this guided tour of the Heraklion Archaeological Museum is a must.

Tour Description

At the indicated time, we'll meet in front of Hari’s Creperiê and, once we're all there, we'll walk to the Heraklion Archaeological Museum to start this guided tour.

The museum features the largest collection of Minoan art in the world, with pieces dating back to 6000 BC. Its antiquities span Crete's history from the Neolithic to Roman times, making it one of the most significant museums in Europe.

The exhibition is divided into 27 rooms, including the Minoan collection, Minoan frescoes, and the historical period. During the tour, we will see items from the island's past, including everyday objects and weapons.

We will also view notable items, such as the Minoan snake goddess figurines, the reconstruction of the fresco Prince of the Lilies, the Minoan gold ring featuring ritual representations, and Minoan pottery adorned with bird and fish figures.

After 2 hours of exploring, we will conclude the activity at the starting point.
