Tour Overview

We'll convene at the scheduled time in front of Hari’s Creperiê. Once everyone has arrived, we will proceed to the Heraklion Archaeological Museum to begin our enlightening tour.

Did you know this museum boasts the most extensive collection of Minoan art worldwide? Here, you will encounter remarkable artifacts dating back to 6000 BC, showcasing the breadth of Crete's history from the Neolithic era through to Roman times. It stands as one of Europe’s foremost museums.

The museum's exhibits are organized across 27 rooms, featuring the Minoan collection, Minoan frescoes, and artifacts from different historical periods. Throughout our tour, we will discover some of the island's oldest relics, ranging from ancient everyday objects to weapons.

Among the highlights will be iconic items such as the figurines of the Minoan snake goddess, a reconstruction of the fresco known as the Prince of the Lilies, and a unique Minoan gold ring depicting a ceremonial scene. We will also observe painted Minoan pottery adorned with imagery of birds and fish.

After immersing ourselves in this captivating history for 2 hours, we will conclude our experience back at the starting location.
