Heraklion Food Tour

Join our Heraklion Food Tour to explore the culinary scene of this Cretan city. We will meet at the Statue of the Unknown Soldier in Eleftherias Square at the scheduled time and begin our tour.

During the tour, we will make 8 stops in Heraklion's historic center to taste traditional products and learn about their preparation. We will discuss the unique aspects of Cretan gastronomy compared to other Mediterranean diets.

Our experience will start with a Greek coffee, exploring its cultural significance, followed by an introduction to "cup-reading" using coffee grounds. We will also sample a traditional bougatsa cake from Heraklion.

Next, we will visit a local market to taste olives, cheese, biscuits, and Cretan olive oil. Throughout the tour, we will engage with bakers, fishmongers, butchers, cheesemongers, and other culinary professionals to gain insights into Cretan cuisine.

We will also sample organic meats, fried snails, and Cretan wines. After 4 hours of exploration and tasting, the tour will conclude back at the starting point.
