Why Visit Knossos Palace?

The Knossos Palace is the largest and oldest palace of the Minoan civilisation, covering approximately 22,000 square metres (236,806 square feet). It is a significant archaeological site in Heraklion, dating from the 18th to 12th centuries BC. Your ticket allows you to explore the ruins, including the central courtyard, royal quarters, halls for worship and receptions, and handicraft shops. Significant features include the Throne Room of Knossos, decorated with frescoes and a stone throne used for rituals, as well as the Queen's apartments, home to the fresco of dolphins. The palace is also tied to the legend of the Minotaur.
