On this day trip to Matala, we'll visit beaches and one of the most famous hippie colonies in Europe. It was also an important location in Greek mythology.

We'll pick you up at the scheduled time to cross the plain of Messara towards Matala, a location that gained popularity in the 60s.

First, we'll explore this site, used as a port by the Romans and Minoans, and learn how Matala became a hippie colony with caves occupied during the Roman period.

We will also touch on the mythological aspect, where, according to Greek tradition, the god Zeus took the Phoenician princess Europa after abducting her as a white bull.

You'll have four hours of free time in Matala to enjoy its beaches, including the Red and Kommos beaches; stroll through craft stalls, taste local cuisine, and visit the famous sandstone caves where the hippies lived.

Finally, we'll reconvene to return to the starting point, where we'll arrive eight hours after pickup.
