On this hiking tour of the Sarakina Gorge, we'll discover one of the most spectacular gorges in inland Crete, where the waters of the Kriopotamos River create several waterfalls and natural ponds.

After picking you up between 7:30 and 8:30 am at your hotel in Heraklion, we'll leave the capital of Crete and drive in a jeep to the interior of the island.

The car will stop at the entrance of the Sarakina Gorge, where we'll start the hike through this narrow gorge. During the walk, we'll adapt the number of stops based on the group characteristics while discovering the unique geology of the canyon.

We'll climb steps carved into the rocks and use the trunks and branches of trees as ladders. The effort will be rewarded as we reach an area where the Kriopotamos River flows through the gorge, forming waterfalls and natural ponds.

If you take the tour in summer, you can take a refreshing dip in these waterfalls. Throughout the year, we'll enjoy these landscapes and take a break for a picnic that includes an energy bar, a piece of fruit, juice, and mineral water.

Finally, we'll return to the starting point and from there back to your hotel in Heraklion between 1:30 and 3:30 pm.
