Sonoran Desert Mission Churches 4-Day Tour

Day 1: Hermosillo - Caborca

Meet at Hermosillo Airport and travel to Trincheras. Enjoy free time for lunch at a local restaurant. Visit the archaeological site of Cerro De Trincheras, inhabited in the 14th and 15th centuries. Next, travel to Caborca, founded by missionary Eusebio Francisco Kino in 1693, and see the Franciscan Church of the Immaculate Conception, Plaza de Armas, and Cerro de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe. Afterward, check in at the hotel in Caborca and enjoy the evening at your leisure.

Day 2: Caborca - Magdalena de Kino

After breakfast, visit Rancho La Proveedora for ancient petroglyphs. Receive a picnic bag with a hamburger, French fries, and a soft drink, and start the Ruta de las Misiones visiting Pitiquito, Altar, Oquitoa, Atil, Tubutama, and San Ignacio. Arrive at Magdalena de Kino for a guided tour of sites like Casa del Ministro de Guerra and Church of Our Lady of Fatima. Conclude with dinner at a local restaurant, then relax at the hotel.

Day 3: Magdalena de Kino

After breakfast, travel to Cucurpe to visit the abandoned mission of Cucurpe. Return to Magdalena de Kino for 1.5 hours of free time for lunch. Next, visit the crypt of Father Kino, Chapel of San Francisco Javier, Plaza Juarez, and the train station. Explore the mission of San Ignacio de Cabórica before enjoying dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 4: Magdalena de Kino - Hermosillo

Wake early for breakfast, then visit the municipal cemetery and mausoleum of Luis Donaldo Colosio. Depart for Hermosillo, arriving at the airport by 2 PM.
