Yécora Forest 2-Day Excursion
Day 1: Hermosillo - Yécora
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Hermosillo and head to Yécora, a Sonoran town located in the Sierra Madre Oriental. The trip by minibus will take almost five hours.
Upon arrival, we'll leave our luggage at the hotel and enjoy lunch. Afterward, we'll visit Rancho La Cueva for a short 3-kilometer hike to a rocky outcrop with impressive views.
During the tour, we'll also have a 40-minute horseback ride through the dense coniferous forests that were once home to the Tarahumara Indigenous Peoples. We'll end the day with a dinner featuring various grilled meats.
Day 2: Yécora - Hermosillo
The day begins with breakfast at the hotel, followed by a visit to a forked tree in the shape of a 'Y' on the outskirts of town. We will then explore the center of Yécora, including the main square, the colorful letters, and the Church of Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe.
Afterward, we'll have a picnic lunch and head to Mesa del Campanero to visit a local vegetable garden. Finally, we'll go to the Mirador El Bordo viewpoint to see the expanse of green pine forests.
We'll conclude the excursion with our return to Hermosillo, arriving at your hotel by 8 pm.
