Explore the capital of La Altagracia on this day trip to Higüey. You'll discover a sugar and tobacco plantation, magnificent churches, traditional markets and much more!

Description

At the time you choose, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Punta Cana and set off on an hour's journey to Higüey: the capital of the Dominican province La Altagracia.

First, we'll visit a ranch for horse riding, providing a way to start the day while enjoying the natural landscapes of Higüey. Next, we'll proceed to the Basilica-Cathedral of Our Lady of Altagracia, where we will see the exterior of this modern sanctuary and appreciate its unique architecture.

Afterward, we will visit the Higüey Market to experience the variety of exotic fruits available. A traditional Dominican lunch will be enjoyed at the market. Post-lunch, we will learn about the important coffee, cocoa, and tobacco industries.

To understand the tobacco industry, we’ll visit a tobacco factory to learn about the main techniques used in hand cigar production. Finally, we’ll make a short photo stop at the beautiful Macao beach before returning to your hotel, concluding the tour 4 hours later.
