Explore the capital of La Altagracia on this day trip to Higüey. You'll discover a sugar and tobacco plantation, magnificent churches, traditional markets, and more!

Description

At the time you choose, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Punta Cana and set off on an hour's journey to Higüey: the capital of the Dominican province La Altagracia.

First, we'll visit a ranch for horse riding, offering an ideal start to the day. After experiencing the landscapes of Higüey on horseback, our next stop will be the Basilica-Cathedral of Our Lady of Altagracia, where we will observe its unique architecture from the outside. This modern sanctuary is located in the center of Higüey and is dedicated to one of the most revered virgins in the Dominican Republic.

Next, we'll visit the Higüey Market, where we'll see a variety of exotic fruits. We will enjoy a full traditional Dominican lunch at the market. After lunch, we will learn about the coffee, cocoa, and tobacco industries.

To understand the tobacco industry, we'll visit a tobacco factory, where we will learn about hand cigar-making techniques that have been passed down for generations.

Finally, we'll stop at the beautiful Macao beach for photos before returning to your hotel, concluding the tour approximately 4 hours later.
