Hiroshima Castle and Itsukushima Shrine are notable landmarks included in this tour of Hiroshima and Miyajima.
Description
Join us at Hiroshima Station to start our bus journey through the history of Japan. During the ride, view the modern reconstruction of Hiroshima Castle, originally destroyed by the atomic bomb on August 6, 1945.
Upon arrival at the Hiroshima Peace Memorial, engage in a half-hour tour of the memorial park. This site features exhibitions and structures honoring the victims of World War II, prominently including the Genbaku Dome.
We will then enjoy a traditional lunch, trying okonomiyaki, a typical Japanese cake.
After lunch, we will head to Miyajimaguchi Pier to board a ferry to Miyajima Island. Explore notable sites such as Itsukushima Shrine, the Great Torii Gate, the Goju-no-to Pagoda, and the Toyokuni Temple.
You will have one hour of free time on Omotesando Street to discover additional attractions at your leisure.
At the end of the tour, return to the pier to catch the ferry back to Hiroshima. A bus will then take us to the main station, concluding our tour of Hiroshima and Miyajima.
Important
If the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum is closed, we will visit the Hiroshima National Peace Memorial Hall for the Atomic Bomb Victims instead.
