Hiroshima Castle and Itsukushima Shrine are iconic landmarks included in this tour of Hiroshima and Miyajima.
Description
Meet us at Hiroshima Station to begin a bus journey exploring the significant history of Japan.
On the bus ride, view the modern reconstruction of Hiroshima Castle, originally destroyed by the atomic bomb on August 6, 1945.
We'll arrive at the Hiroshima Peace Memorial for a half-hour tour featuring an expansive memorial park with exhibitions honoring victims of World War II, including the Genbaku Dome.
After the tour, we will enjoy a traditional lunch in the area, featuring okonomiyaki, a typical Japanese dish.
Post-lunch, we'll head to Miyajimaguchi Pier to board a ferry to Miyajima Island. Explore notable sites such as Itsukushima Shrine, the Great Torii Gate, the Goju-no-to Pagoda, and the Toyokuni Temple.
You'll have an hour of free time along Omotesando Street to discover additional attractions in Miyajima at your leisure.
Upon concluding our tour, we will return to the pier to catch the ferry back. From there, a bus will take us to the main station, concluding our tour of Hiroshima and Miyajima.
Important
If the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum is closed, we'll visit the Hiroshima National Peace Memorial Hall for the Atomic Bomb Victims instead.
