Japanese Calligraphy Workshop

Originating from the 6th century, Japanese calligraphy is a celebrated form of artistic expression. Our journey begins at the Okeiko Japan Academy in Miyajima, a serene setting within a centuries-old Zen temple.

Upon arrival, each participant will receive a bamboo brush, dipped delicately into black ink. You will select a kanji from a variety of options presented to you. As you engage in this practice, you'll uncover the techniques behind this captivating art.

Over the next half hour, you'll have the opportunity to write your name using Japanese characters, all in a peaceful and inspiring atmosphere. Master the kana calligraphy style that will allow you to elegantly sign your pieces. This session promises to be an unforgettable experience.

Your workshop will conclude after approximately 30 minutes.

Kimono Rental Option

If you wish, you can also rent a traditional Japanese kimono to wear during the calligraphy workshop. Arrive a bit earlier, and you will have 30 minutes to select and fit into your outfit before starting the class.
