Japanese Calligraphy Workshop

Japanese calligraphy is a form of artistic writing dating back to the 6th century. To discover the art, we'll meet at the Okeiko Japan Academy in Miyajima, located in a 300-year-old Zen temple.

Once inside the center, we'll provide you with a bamboo cane brush and black ink. Then we'll choose a kanji. You'll learn about the art form through your name written in Japanese letters during this session. Experience the kana calligraphy style to sign your work. The workshop lasts approximately 30 minutes.

Rent a Kimono

You can also rent a traditional Japanese kimono while participating in the workshop. We'll meet at the designated time, and you will have 30 minutes to select your outfit and prepare before the class.
