Japanese Calligraphy Workshop

Japanese calligraphy is a form of artistic writing dating back to the 6th century. To discover the art, we'll meet at the Okeiko Japan Academy in Miyajima, located in a 300-year-old Zen temple.

Inside the center, we will provide you with a bamboo cane brush and black ink. You will choose a kanji from the options shown to you. This class will last for 30 minutes, during which you will learn to write your name in Japanese letters and the kana calligraphy style to sign your work. The workshop will conclude approximately 30 minutes later.

Rent a Kimono

You have the option to rent a traditional Japanese kimono while participating in the calligraphy workshop. You will have 30 minutes to choose your outfit and prepare before the class starts.
