Miyajima Japanese Cultural Experience

When booking, you can choose a cultural experience with 2 or 3 activities, all starting at the Okeiko Japan Academy in Miyajima.

2 activities experience

If you choose this option, you will enjoy two experiences from the following: a Japanese calligraphy workshop, an amulet workshop, or a tea ceremony. Each activity lasts 30 minutes.

Upon arrival at the academy, the cultural immersion begins with a traditional kimono fitting. In the calligraphy workshop, you will learn to write your name in Japanese. The craft workshop includes making traditional Japanese amulets. In the tea ceremony, you will learn the symbolism behind each gesture in this ritual. The activities conclude 1.5 hours later.

3 activities experience

For a more complete experience, the option to participate in all three cultural workshops is available. After donning kimonos, you will engage in each activity. The experience concludes 2 hours later.
