Miyajima Japanese Cultural Experience

When booking, you can choose a cultural experience with 2 or 3 activities. They all start at the Okeiko Japan Academy in Miyajima.

2 activities experience

If you choose this option, you'll enjoy two experiences, selecting from a Japanese calligraphy workshop, an amulet workshop, or a tea ceremony. Each activity will last 30 minutes.

Once we meet at the academy, cultural immersion begins. In the first 30 minutes, we will assist you in putting on a traditional kimono before starting the activities.

If you opt for the writing workshop, you'll learn to write your name with Japanese letters. In the craft workshop, you'll discover how traditional Japanese amulets are made. If you participate in the tea ceremony, you'll learn about the symbolism behind every gesture in this ritual. The activities conclude 1.5 hours later.

3 activities experience

For a more complete experience, this option is ideal. After donning the kimonos, you'll take part in all three cultural workshops. The experience will end 2 hours later.
