Mount Field National Park Day Trip

Explore Tasmania's natural beauty on a full-day trip to Mount Field National Park, visit a historic salmon hatchery, and marvel at Russell Falls.

Tour Details

We’ll pick you up from your hotel and head to the scenic Derwent Valley for views of local wildlife and landscapes, with the Derwent River as a backdrop.

On the way, we’ll pass through New Norfolk and stop at a historic salmon hatchery, learning about Tasmania’s fishing traditions. A warm cup of tea will be served before proceeding to Mount Field National Park.

At Mount Field, we’ll explore highlights through walks and minibus rides, walking among eucalyptus trees, myrtles, and ferns, and learning about park flora, including species over 400 years old.

A key stop is Russell Falls, where you’ll have an hour of free time for lunch.

Afterward, we’ll depart the park for the return journey to Hobart, crossing Bowen Bridge for a view of the Derwent River.

After six and a half to seven hours, we’ll conclude the tour by dropping you off at your hotel.
