On this free tour of Holguín, we'll delve into the City of Parks in Cuba, exploring a historical mural, a colonial museum, and a church.
Description
At the appointed time, we'll meet at the Parque de las Flores Park. Holguín is known as the City of Parks, and we'll discover why.
We'll begin at the Orígenes mural, featuring four centuries of Cuban history sculpted in bronze relief, which provides insights into the country's journey.
The next stop is Calixto García Park, the largest in the city, where we'll visit the La Periquera Museum, a colonial building that has survived numerous independence wars.
We will then stop at the church of San José in its namesake park, one of the oldest basilicas in Cuba, designed in neoclassical style.
Continuing, we'll visit the Children's Park to see various animals and birds living in specially equipped facilities.
Afterwards, we'll climb the 458 steps to the Loma de la Cruz (Hill of the Cross), with rest opportunities provided by benches along the way. At the summit, you will enjoy panoramic views of Holguín.
Finally, after a stop at an art gallery, we’ll conclude our 2.5-hour tour at Marqueta Square.
