Do you know the 4th largest city in Cuba? On this guided tour of Holguin, we'll take a walk through its picturesque historic centre to discover all about its heritage.

Description

At the indicated time, we'll begin this guided tour of Holguin from Parque de Las Flores, in front of the Origins Mural. We will admire this work in relief that represents the foundation of the city and significant moments of its history. Over 20 tonnes of concrete were used for its construction. Nearby, we will visit the Plaza de la Marqueta and the cathedral of San Isidoro, where we will enter to view its 19th-century Moorish decoration.

The tour continues in the heart of Holguín at plaza and park Calixto García Íñiguez, which previously served various commercial, military, and theatrical roles. Next, we will walk to San José Park, home to the oldest church in the city, built by the Franciscan monks during the colonial period.

Finally, we will conclude this 3-hour walking tour by climbing up 458 steps to the Loma de la Cruz viewpoint. From the top, we will enjoy panoramic views and learn about the legend of the wooden cross that stands there.
