Looking to experience the 4th largest city in Cuba? On this guided tour of Holguin, we'll take a walk through its picturesque historic centre to discover all about its heritage.

Description

At the indicated time, we'll begin this guided tour of Holguin from Parque de Las Flores, specifically in front of the Origins Mural, which represents the foundation of the city and other emblematic moments of its history, constructed with 20 tonnes of concrete. We will then visit the Plaza de la Marqueta and the cathedral of San Isidoro, where we will enter to see its 19th-century Moorish decoration.

Next, we will proceed to the plaza and park Calixto García Íñiguez, which served various functions in the past. Following this, we will walk to San José Park, home to the old basilica built by Franciscan monks during the colonial period.

We will conclude this 3-hour walking tour by ascending the 458 steps to the Loma de la Cruz viewpoint. At the top, we will enjoy views and learn about the legend of the wooden cross that stands there.
