Are you aware that Pico Island's vineyard landscape has been recognized as a World Heritage Site? This excursion invites you to explore the unique flora, fauna, and rich history of one of the Azores' most captivating islands.

Day Trip to Pico Island

At the scheduled time, we will collect you from your accommodation in Horta and board a boat headed for Pico Island. During our journey, you'll witness vast vineyards that have earned their World Heritage designation, alongside picturesque villages dotting the island.

Upon arrival, we will begin our adventure in the village of São Mateus, home to some of the island's oldest parishes. While there, we will also visit a craft workshop!

Our next destination is Lajes do Pico, recognized as the island's first inhabited area. Here, we will explore the Museo dos Baleeiros, which highlights the significance of fishing in this region. Please note that if our visit occurs on a Monday, the museum will be closed, allowing us to spend additional time at other sites.

Feeling hungry? A buffet lunch awaits you at a local eatery before we continue to the village of São Roque. Along the way, we will pause at Lagoa do Capitão, one of Pico's largest and most notable lagoons. The scenery from this viewpoint is nothing short of spectacular!

After capturing stunning photographs, we'll proceed to Vila de São Roque and explore the charming parish of Bandeiras. Our journey will culminate at Arcos do Cachorro, where you can take in the breathtaking views of these magnificent sea caves.

At the end of our 7-8 hour exploration of Pico Island, we will return you to your hotel in Horta.
