Did you know that the vineyard landscape of Pico Island is a World Heritage Site? On this tour, you'll discover the flora, fauna, and history of one of the most beautiful islands of the Azores.
Pico Island Day Trip
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Horta and then take a boat to Pico Island. We'll traverse landscapes of vineyards, declared a World Heritage Site, and visit the most beautiful villages on this island.
Once we arrive, we'll explore the village of São Mateus, which is home to one of the oldest parishes on the island, as well as visit a crafts workshop.
The next stop will be Lajes do Pico, the first inhabited area on the island. Here, we'll visit the Museo dos Baleeiros to learn about the significance of fishing in the region. If the tour is on a Monday, the museum will be closed, and we will allocate more time to other locations visited.
For lunch, we'll enjoy a buffet at a local restaurant, then proceed to São Roque. On the way, we'll stop at Lagoa do Capitão, one of the largest lagoons in Pico, offering great views.
After taking photos, we will visit Vila de São Roque and the parish of Bandeiras, concluding our tour at Arcos do Cachorro to admire the sea caves. Finally, we will return you to your hotel in Horta after 7-8 hours of touring Pico Island.
