Deer Island Kayak Tour
Our adventure begins promptly at 8 am on the banks of Hornopirén Bay, where a knowledgeable guide will provide instructions on safely navigating the kayaks and using the paddles.
Following this introductory session, we'll depart on our memorable expedition to Deer Island. The 7-kilometer (4.3-mile) journey, characterized by a moderate level of difficulty, allows us to savor the breathtaking and diverse landscapes that define Chilean Patagonia.
Paddling through Hornopirén Bay, we will approach the shores of Isla de los Ciervos (Deer Island). This charming island is home to a significant pudú colony, a mammal endemic to the Andean regions, making it a perfect spot for potential wildlife sightings. Here, we will disembark to search for these remarkable creatures, regarded as the smallest deer in the world.
During our visit to Deer Island, we will explore its rich flora and fauna. While enjoying a brief pause, participants will have the opportunity to savor a small snack featuring a local energy bar made from regional ingredients.
As we conclude our time on the island, we'll paddle back to our starting point, returning by 12 pm.
