Hike Up the Hornopirén Volcano

After picking you up at 7:30 am at your hotel in Hornopirén, we'll set off towards the Hornopirén volcano trailhead, located 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) away from the town.

Once equipped with poles and necessary materials, we'll start the ascent to the Hornopirén volcano. The trekking route will take us about 6 hours, covering approximately 9.5 kilometers (5.9 miles) with a medium-high level of difficulty. We will make several stops to admire the landscapes of Chilean Patagonia.

During the hike, we'll cross lush forests of alerce trees characteristic of the Andean countryside, continuing uphill to an altitude of 1500 meters (4,920 feet), just 72 meters (230 feet) from the summit of the Hornopirén volcano.

At the top, we will enjoy the views of the Calbuco and Osorno volcanoes and the southern fjords. We will also share facts about the Hornopirén peak, meaning "snow oven".

We'll take a break at the top to replenish with a snack bar, a piece of fruit, and a hydrating sports drink. After this, we'll start our descent back to the trailhead, returning to your hotel in Hornopirén by 3:30 pm.
