Get to know the first 'Magical Town' of the state of Tlaxcala on this guided tour of Huamantla. We'll see the Basilica de la Caridad, Casa de la Cultura & the National Puppet Museum!

Huamantla Walking Tour

At the appointed time, we'll meet at Hotel Las Candelas to start this guided tour of Huamantla, one of the Pueblos Mágicos of Mexico and the first in the state of Tlaxcala. This recognition is given to municipalities whose cultural richness is important to preserve.

Our tour will pass through the main points of interest in town, starting with the Convent of San Luis and its parish church, which dates back to colonial times. Next, we'll visit Basilica de la Caridad and Casa de la Cultura, a cultural center originally built between the 18th and 19th centuries as a school, now housing workshops and exhibitions.

We will continue to the façade of the National Puppet Museum, which displays a collection of puppets from various countries, including India, Indonesia, France, and Spain. The core of the exhibition consists of the puppets made by the Rosete Aranda brothers, known for their successful puppet company in Latin America and Europe.

After an hour and a half, we'll end the tour by returning to the meeting point, where we'll say goodbye.
