Huamantla Walking Tour

At the appointed time we'll meet at Hotel Las Candelas to start this guided tour of Huamantla, the first in the state of Tlaxcala. This recognition, meaning 'Magical Towns', is given to municipalities whose cultural richness is deemed important to preserve.

Our tour will pass through the main points of interest in town, including the Convent of San Luis and its parish church, notable for its colorful dome. Next, we'll see Basilica de la Caridad and Casa de la Cultura, which houses eight rooms for workshops and exhibitions. This cultural center was originally built between the 18th and 19th centuries as a school.

We'll continue walking to the façade of the National Puppet Museum, which displays an extensive collection of puppets from India, Indonesia, France, and Spain, with a core exhibition featuring puppets made by the Rosete Aranda brothers, known for their successful puppet company in Latin America and Europe.

After an hour and a half, we'll end the tour by returning to the meeting point, where we'll say goodbye.
