Pulque Tasting

We'll meet at the selected time at Hotel Las Candelas in Huamantla to start this experience where we'll taste the sweet nectar consumed by the Indigenous Peoples of Mexico.

Pulque is a traditional Mexican beverage obtained from the fermentation of the maguey or agave plant, considered sacred in pre-colonial times. We'll learn about the history of this drink and the legends that surround it while discussing the importance of pulque in Mexican culture.

Next, we'll sample natural pulque and cured pulque, which is sweetened with honey or sugar. Different types include oatmeal, tropical, and pine nut. You'll want to try them all!

The experience will conclude an hour and a half after departure.
