Tlaxcala translates to "place of the corn tortilla" in Quechua, highlighting the cultural and culinary relevance of corn tortillas in this Mexican state, specifically Huamantla, where the activity takes place.
The class begins at the designated time at hotel Las Candelas, followed by a visit to a site where the history of corn cultivation and the origin of corn tortillas will be discussed. Attendees will discover up to 10 varieties of organic corn cultivated locally for tortilla preparation.
