Tortilla-Making Class

Tlaxcala means "place of the corn tortilla" in Quechua, highlighting the cultural importance of corn tortillas in this region. The class will take place in the city of Huamantla.

We will meet at the chosen time at hotel Las Candelas and proceed to a location where we will learn about the history of corn cultivation and the origin of corn tortillas. Participants will observe up to 10 different varieties of organic corn used in local recipes.

Following the presentation, attendees will engage in a workshop to make their own corn tortillas, applying the knowledge acquired. The class will conclude with a tasting of local corn products.

This immersive experience will last approximately an hour and a half, after which participants will conclude the session and say their goodbyes.
