Tour Highlights
At the scheduled time, we'll meet up at Huamanmarca Park. We'll embark on a minibus journey to Estancia Huaytapallana, the starting point for our hike. Before the trek, a breakfast will be provided. We will then set off on the hike toward the snowy summit of Huaytapallana.
The approximately 3-hour ascent will explore this Andean mountain. The name "Huaytapallana" translates to "where the flowers are gathered," becoming evident as we progress.
Our route leads through the Enchanted Lakes, including Carhuacocha, Cocha Grande, and Yanaucsha. We will have time for photos.
At the midpoint, we'll perform a ceremonial offering to Pachamama using coca leaves, with local guides explaining this ancient tradition.
We'll reach the pinnacle of the route at an elevation of 4,950 meters (16,240 feet) above sea level, offering views of the glacier and Mantaro Valley.
To conclude, we'll descend via the Abra Yanauchsa route for about 1.5 hours back to Estancia Huaytapallana, where you can opt for lunch. We will return to Huancayo 10.5 hours after starting.
