Unleash your adventurous spirit on this hike through the snow-covered peaks of Huaytapallana, nestled in the heart of the Andes Mountains in Huancayo.
Tour Highlights
We will meet at Huamanmarca Park at the scheduled time and take a minibus to Estancia Huaytapallana, the hike's starting point. We will have breakfast at the estancia before beginning our trek toward the snowy summit of Huaytapallana.
The 3-hour ascent will reveal the wonders of this Andean mountain, with "Huaytapallana" meaning "where the flowers are gathered." Our route includes the Enchanted Lakes, such as Carhuacocha, Cocha Grande, and Yanaucsha, perfect for photographs.
Midway through the hike, we will perform a ceremonial offering to Pachamama with coca leaves, guided by local experts on this ancient Peruvian tradition.
We will reach the peak just 500 meters (1,640 feet) below Huaytapallana's slopes at an elevation of 4,950 meters (16,240 feet) above sea level, enjoying views of the glacier and Mantaro Valley.
The descent will take about 1.5 hours via the Abra Yanauchsa route back to Estancia Huaytapallana, where lunch can be purchased. We will conclude our journey 10.5 hours after starting in Huancayo.
