Unleash your adventurous spirit on this hike through the snow-covered peaks of Huaytapallana, nestled in the heart of the Andes Mountains. Immerse yourself in the beauty of one of the most captivating locations in Huancayo.
Tour Highlights
Meet at Huamanmarca Park and embark on a minibus journey to Estancia Huaytapallana, the starting point for our hike. Enjoy a breakfast before we set off toward the snowy summit of Huaytapallana.
The approximately 3-hour ascent unveils the mysteries of this Andean mountain. "Huaytapallana" translates to "where the flowers are gathered," a significance revealed as we hike.
We will pass by the Enchanted Lakes, including Carhuacocha, Cocha Grande, and Yanaucsha. A midpoint highlight will be a ceremonial offering to Pachamama with coca leaves, explained by our local guides.
We'll reach the pinnacle 500 meters (1,640 feet) below Huaytapallana's slopes at 4,950 meters (16,240 feet) above sea level, offering views of the glacier and Mantaro Valley.
Our descent will take about 1.5 hours via the Abra Yanauchsa route back to Estancia Huaytapallana, where lunch options are available.
After this experience, we will conclude the tour at the starting point in Huancayo, approximately 10.5 hours after departure.
