Live the history of the Vietnam War with this excursion to Vietnam's demilitarised zone. We'll visit important locations like military bases and the subterranean tunnels used by the Viet Cong.

Description

Pickup will be at your hotel at the scheduled time. First, we'll stop at the Quang Tri citadel, followed by a visit to Khe Sanh, the site of a lengthy battle in 1968, now home to a weapons museum. Next is the Dakrong Bridge, a gift from Cuba in the '70s, and afterward, free time for lunch and rest at the Khe Sanh base.

We will proceed to significant historical sites, including the Hien Loun bridge on the Ben Hai river, a symbol of reunification for Vietnam since the 1954 Geneva Conference divided the country.

Our route continues to the Vinh Moc tunnels, where around 300 families lived during the war. The tunnels, nearly 3 kilometers long, consist of three levels: one for family living spaces, one for weapon storage, and the deepest for protection from bombings.

After visiting the tunnels, we will go to the museum for a comprehensive historical understanding of the conflict and the experiences of its survivors.

The tour will conclude with our return to Hue, with an estimated arrival at your hotel 11 hours after pickup.
