Discover the British Overseas Territory of Gibraltar on this day trip from Huelva. Explore the rock, learn about its history, and meet the famous monkeys that call it home.
Day Trip to Gibraltar
Your tour guide will pick you up from your chosen meeting point for a trip to Gibraltar, a British territory since the late 18th century. The Rock, a site of historical disputes between the United Kingdom and Spain, is strategically located near the Strait that separates Europe from Africa.
Enjoy a minibus tour of the Rock and a guided visit to St Michael's Cave, a limestone cave network with military significance since the Middle Ages. Explore its chambers while learning about the history of the sieges and battles that have taken place there.
Your next stop will be Europa Point, the southernmost point of Gibraltar, offering impressive views of the surrounding area, including the Port of Algeciras and potentially the Rif Mountains across the water in Morocco. This area features the Shrine of Our Lady of Europe and the Ibrahim-al-Ibrahim Mosque.
Afterward, meet the Barbary macaques, Europe’s only wild primates. Their presence is said to signify British rule on the Rock. After visiting Europa Point, you will have free time to dine at local restaurants (not included) or shop due to its duty-free status.
At the end of your day trip, return to Huelva for hotel drop-off.
