Explore Huelva's history and city center on this guided tour, featuring sites such as the Reina Victoria neighborhood, Hotel Colón, Gran Teatro, and Mora Claros Palace.
Description
We'll meet at the scheduled time beside the Caseta del Guarda to begin our guided tour of Huelva.
The tour starts with a stroll through the Reina Victoria neighborhood, a British-origin area designated a Cultural Heritage Site. We will discuss its eclectic houses and the Anglo-Saxon immigrants who settled here in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Next, we visit the historic Hotel Colón, built for the 4th centenary of the Discovery of America. It was popular among British company executives and known for its early electricity and hot water amenities.
Then, we will explore Huelva's old town, including the San Francisco seaside district and notable sites like the monument to the Virgen del Rocío, City Hall, and the Gran Teatro.
We will also enter the Mora Claros Palace, recognized for its ornate wrought iron railings, tile decor, and stained glass. It represents the city's economic prosperity.
Additionally, our tour includes a visit to the historic Riotinto mineral wharf, an example of 19th-century industrial architecture with views of the Odiel River.
Following our 2-hour and 15-minute exploration, we conclude our tour beside the Riotinto pier.
