Huelva: On the Trail of Christopher Columbus
After pickup from your chosen location, the tour begins in the province of Huelva, following the historic route known as "lugares colombinos". Your local guide will share the history of Palos de la Frontera, the first stop, where Columbus stayed at the 13th century La Rábida Friary after his expedition request was rejected by the royals in 1490. This site has been a Spanish National Monument since 1856.
Your next stop is the Wharf of the Caravels, a museum dedicated to Columbus' journey, featuring full-size replicas of the ships used in the first voyage: the Pinta, the Niña, and the Santa María. Additionally, you will visit Isla del Encuentro, a recreation of the landscapes encountered by the explorers in the "New World".
After completing the exploration of Columbus' trail, you will be returned to the city center pickup point.
