El Salto Waterfall 2-day Private Hiking Tour

Day 1

At 6 am we'll meet at Carrera 4d in Ibagué. There we'll get into a 4x4 to drive to Juntas, where we'll start our trekking route to the El Salto waterfall. In Juntas, we'll have breakfast before beginning our hike at 7:30 am toward the Escuela El Salto. The trek will take six to eight hours, during which we'll walk through the Combeima canyon and view the snow-capped summit of Tolima. Midway through, we'll take a break for lunch of rice, meat, plantain, and lemonade.

We will finally arrive at the rural inn of the El Salto School, where we'll rest until the next day.

Day 2

On the second day, we'll have breakfast at the school's rural inn. Afterward, we'll set off on a one-hour route to the El Salto waterfall. After enjoying the waterfall's scenery, we'll return to the school and descend back to Juntas. This descent will take five to six hours, during which we'll stop for a hamburger and enjoy views of the Nevado del Tolima, which is over 5200 meters (17060) high. We will then take the jeep back to Ibagué, arriving at 5 pm.

Accommodation

The tour includes one night's accommodation at the rural inn of the El Salto School.
