Guided Walking Tour of Iglesias

At your selected time, we'll meet in Piazza Quintino Sella to begin our walking tour of Iglesias. This tour focuses on the town's history and its principal monuments.

We will share historical insights of this medieval town, its mining past, and its significance when Sardinia was part of the Kingdom of Spain. We will walk past the medieval walls and towers of Iglesias until we reach the Castle of Salvaterra, dating back to the 13th century. We will then return to the city center to view the façades of its main churches, including the Church of San Domenico, the Church of La Purísima, the Church of San Marcello, and the Cathedral of Santa Clara, along with various parish churches from different periods.

Along the route, we will also see art deco buildings such as the Electra Theatre and monuments commemorating the fallen soldiers of the First World War.

After a two-hour tour of Iglesias, we will conclude our visit in Piazza Guglielmo Oberdan.
