Tour Details
At your selected time, we'll meet in Piazza Quintino Sella to begin the walking tour of Iglesias. The tour will cover the town's history and key monuments.
The guided tour will reveal some historical curiosities of this medieval town, focusing on its mining past and its role during the period when Sardinia was part of the Kingdom of Spain.
We will walk past the medieval walls and towers of Iglesias until we arrive at the Castle of Salvaterra, dating back to the 13th century. Following this, we will return to the city centre to admire the façades of its main churches. The town's name means Churches in Spanish, and we will see the Church of San Domenico, the Church of La Purísima, the Church of San Marcello, the Cathedral of Santa Clara, and many other parish churches from different periods.
Along the route, we will also see art deco buildings like the Electra Theatre and monuments commemorating fallen soldiers of the First World War.
After an hour and a half tour of Iglesias, we will conclude our visit in Piazza Guglielmo Oberdan.
