Day Trip to a Cocoa Farm

On this tour, we'll explore the Chocolate Route of Ilhéus and visit a cocoa farm to discover the origins of chocolate.

Day Trip to a Cocoa Farm

Between 8 and 8:40 am, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Ilhéus to start the Chocolate Route. On the minibus, we will travel through the road connecting the cocoa-producing farms to this town.

As we cross the Atlantic Forest, we will explore the significance of this crop in the region. The chocolate produced here has received awards in Europe, and some chocolate companies have been established for over 250 years.

We will stop at a hacienda to observe the daily work among the cocoa trees and learn about cultivation and harvesting. We will also discover other products made from cocoa beyond the typical chocolate bar.

Participants will have the opportunity to taste homemade chocolate made on the farm and purchase sweets as souvenirs.

We will conclude the activity with drop-off at your hotel at 1 pm.
