On this tour, we'll explore the Chocolate Route of Ilhéus and visit a cocoa farm to understand the origins of cocoa.

Day Trip to a Cocoa Farm

Between 8 and 8:40 am, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Ilhéus to start the Chocolate Route. We will explore the road connecting cocoa-producing farms to this town aboard a minibus.

As we travel through the Atlantic Forest, known for its cocoa plantations, we will learn about the region's esteemed cocoa production. The chocolate from this area has received awards in Europe, with some companies operating for over 250 years.

We will stop at a hacienda to observe daily work among the cocoa trees and learn about cultivation and harvesting. Additionally, we will discover other products made from cocoa besides the typical chocolate bar.

Participants will have the opportunity to taste homemade chocolate produced on the farm and can purchase other sweets as souvenirs.

The tour will conclude with a return to your hotel by 1 pm.
