Join us on an engaging journey along the Chocolate Route of Ilhéus, where we will visit a cocoa plantation to uncover the origins of one of the world’s most delightful treats, perfect for chocolate enthusiasts!

Cocoa Farm Day Tour

Starting between 8:00 am and 8:40 am, we will collect you from your accommodation in Ilhéus to embark on the Chocolate Route. During the minibus ride, we will travel along a road that links the cocoa farms to the town.

Our adventure takes us through the lush Atlantic Forest, abundant with cocoa plantations, allowing us to understand the prominence of this crop in the region. Remarkably, the chocolate crafted here has received accolades in Europe, with some companies boasting a legacy of over 250 years.

We will pause at a hacienda where you can stroll through the grounds. Experience the daily rhythms of life among the cocoa trees as we uncover fascinating insights about the growing and harvesting processes. You will also learn about various other treats that can be produced from cocoa beyond the traditional chocolate bar.

No visit would be complete without indulging in some scrumptious homemade chocolate produced on-site – simply delightful! Additionally, if you wish, a selection of other sweet treats will be available for purchase to take home as mementos.

The tour concludes with your return to the hotel by 1 pm.
