Day Excursion to the Rio do Rastro Mountains

We will begin our journey by picking you up from your hotel in Imbituba at the arranged time, setting off towards one of the most captivating natural sites in southern Brazil: the Serra do Rio do Rastro.

The initial part of our trip will take approximately two hours until we arrive at the start of the Serra do Rio do Rastro road, historically utilized in the 17th century by the region's earliest settlers. During this phase of the tour, you will hear intriguing historical anecdotes.

Our first stop will be at a scenic viewpoint, where we may catch a glimpse of the playful coatis that inhabit the area. Continuing through the mountains, we will drive amid araucaria forests, so it's a perfect moment to capture some memorable photographs!

As we enjoy the scenery, the time for a meal will arrive, and we'll pause at a nearby restaurant to indulge in the tasty local cuisine. You can choose from a variety of lunch options. After our meal, our next destination will be the Avencal Waterfall as we make our way through Urubici, a key highlight of the Catarinense mountain range.

A must-visit point on our itinerary is the Morro da Igreja, where we’ll marvel at Pedra Furada and the breathtaking landscapes within the São Joaquim National Park. To cap off our day, we will traverse the Serra do Corvo Branco road, driving through the canyon shaped by the Guarani aquifer. Truly mesmerizing!

Our day will conclude as we return to the original meeting point, totaling an exhilarating 11 hours of exploration.
