Imbé River Canoeing Adventure
At the designated time, we will meet at the Barranco Marina and proceed to the Old Bridge on the Estrada do Mar. Here, we will board our canoes and prepare for the kayak journey on the Tramandaí River.
Before departure, our instructor will provide a briefing on essential safety rules. We will paddle downstream, covering a distance of 12 to 15 kilometers (7.5 to 9.3 miles), taking in views of the Serra Geral mountains and the unique plants and wildlife of the region.
Throughout the tour, we will spot various birds, including cardinals, herons, dry heads, chimangos, caracaras, and possibly spoonbills with their distinctive plumage. For those seeking an extra thrill, we can arrange a stop for a refreshing swim.
After approximately 30 minutes of paddling, we will reach the Mysterious Lagoon, home to yacarés overos, a crocodile species native to South America. Continuing southward, we will navigate a tranquil section of the river.
For those interested, we can take a detour to the Tramandaí bridge, passing by riverside mansions that contrast with the surroundings.
We will conclude our journey with a return to the starting point, with the tour duration ranging from three to five hours, depending on the group's pace.
