Imbé River Canoeing Adventure
At the designated time, we will meet at the Barranco Marina and proceed to the Old Bridge on the Estrada do Mar. Here, we will board our canoes and prepare for an exciting kayak journey on the Tramandaí River.
Before departure, our instructor will brief us on essential safety rules. We will paddle downstream, covering a distance of 12 to 15 kilometers (7.5 to 9.3 miles), enjoying views of the Serra Geral mountains and the unique plants and wildlife native to the region.
Throughout the tour, we will spot a variety of birds, including cardinals, herons, dry heads, chimangos, caracaras, and possibly spoonbills. A stop for a refreshing swim can be arranged for those seeking extra excitement.
After approximately 30 minutes of paddling, we will reach the Mysterious Lagoon, where yacarés overos, a South American crocodile species, reside. Continuing southward, we will navigate a tranquil section of the river.
For those interested, a detour to the Tramandaí bridge is possible, passing by riverside mansions that contrast with the untamed surroundings.
The tour duration will range from three to five hours, depending on the group's pace.
