Churup Lagoon Hiking Tour

Do you like adventure? On this hiking route to the Churup Lagoon, we'll enjoy a walk through the landscapes of Huascaran National Park!

Hiking Tour Details

At the designated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Huaraz. We'll travel in a comfortable vehicle through typical Andean villages until we reach Pitec, located at 3,850 meters (12,631 feet) above sea level.

Upon arrival, we'll admire views of snow-capped peaks in Huascaran National Park, such as Vallunaraju, Ocshapalca, Ranrapalca, Rimarima, San Juan, and Churup, our next destination!

We'll start the trekking route along the ridge that begins in Pitec. During the hike, we'll encounter steep sections where we'll need to use ropes to assist with the ascent. The guide will support us on this 2-hour route.

Finally, we'll arrive at the Churup Lagoon, situated at the foot of the snow-capped mountain of the same name. Here, you'll have free time to enjoy the views and rest in the area. Afterwards, we'll begin our walk back to Pitec, where the minibus will be ready to return us to Huaraz.

The excursion concludes with drop-off at your hotel after approximately 9 hours.
