Get ready for an exhilarating ice-climbing experience in the Cordillera Blanca with an excursion to Nevado Huarapasca or Ishinca.

Description

Upon making your booking, you can select between several available options. All alternatives come with hotel pickup and drop-off, an experienced climbing guide, and all required mountain climbing gear.

1-Day Climb at Nevado Huarapasca

This adventure begins with an early pickup at 3 am, proceeding towards Catac, the gateway to Nevado Huarapasca, situated in the southern Cordillera Blanca. It's a prime location for novice climbers due to its accessible, one-day climbing route.

Upon arrival, we’ll initiate the ascent of Nevado Huarapasca. After an hour on foot, we will arrive at the glacier, where the ice-climbing venture commences. Throughout this climb, our team will provide expert instruction to ensure your safety.

After an exhilarating four hours of ice climbing on Huarapasca, we will reach the summit. With the enchanting views of the Cordillera Blanca before us, we can take a moment to appreciate the landscape before beginning our descent.

We will retrace our steps and return to your hotel in Huaraz by around 7 pm.

2-Day Climb at Nevado Vallunaraju

If you're in search of additional thrills, we will journey to Quebrada Llaca for a two to three-hour hike leading us to Nevado Vallunaraju, part of the Chinchey massif nestled within the Cordillera Blanca.

At the close of the day, we will return to a base camp set at an altitude of 4,500 meters (14,763 feet). Here, we will establish our tents and rest until morning.

After a hearty breakfast, we’ll rise early for our glacier trekking expedition. This ice-covered trail, requiring crampons, will last around four to five hours and is considered quite challenging. However, the stunning views will make the effort worthwhile. From these heights, you’ll enjoy expansive vistas of Huaraz, Huaylas, and other majestic peaks in the Cordillera Blanca. Following a well-earned break, we will commence our return journey.

Ultimately, we’ll drop you off at your Huaraz hotel around 1 pm, concluding this remarkable adventure.

3-Day Climb at Nevado Ishinca

Choosing this option grants you the opportunity to enjoy three thrilling days of exploration on the breathtaking Ishinca mountain, a prominent peak in the Cordillera Blanca. Towering over astonishing landscapes, it provides the perfect setting for an immersive climbing experience!

Your journey begins with an 8 am hotel pickup, after which we’ll head north to Platay village. Following access clearance, we’ll embark on a three-hour hike through the Palcaraju massif, where we will establish our base for the evening.

Day two is dedicated to reaching the summit! We will commence the ascent of Nevado Ishinca, navigating both hiking and ice-climbing paths along the way. As we climb to the peak, we will be rewarded with stunning views of surrounding summits, including Ranrapalca, Palcaraju, Tocllaraju, Pucaranra, Chinchey, and larger formations like Urus and Akillpo.

After this challenging day, we will return to the base camp in Palcaraju, where we will spend the night. To wrap up our thrilling three-day expedition, we will pack up the camp the following day and embark on a trek through the gorge, making our way to Collón.

Finally, we will return you to your hotel in Huaraz by approximately 2 pm.
