On this day trip to Huascaran National Park, we'll discover the landscapes of Peruvian nature by hiking along the María Josefa trail to the Chinancocha Lagoon.
Tour Details
We will meet at Jirón 28 de Julio Street. Afterward, we will travel north through the Callejón de Huaylas, between the Blanca and Negra mountain ranges, to reach Huascarán National Park.
During the journey, we will pass through Andean villages and witness the landscapes of Huascarán National Park, a Natural World Heritage Site and World Biosphere Reserve.
Our first stop will be Llanganuco Lake and Chinancocha Lagoon, where we will leave the minibus to start a 1.5-hour hike along the María Josefa trail, passing through quenual forests.
The guide will provide information about the high Andean flora and fauna during the hike. A 1-hour break will be included for lunch.
After lunch, we will visit Campo Santo de Yungay, known for its tragic history and the monument of Christ the Redeemer. We will then return to the meeting point, concluding the day trip after approximately 10-10.5 hours.
