Innsbruck City Tower Access
Innsbruck offers one of the finest spots for panoramic views at the City Tower. With this entry, you have the opportunity to ascend 133 steps, reaching a height of 31 meters to embrace the landscapes surrounding this Austrian town.
Constructed in 1450, this watchtower was originally built to alert residents of the countless threats faced by Innsbruck during the Middle Ages. Its dome rises more than 50 meters, becoming a notable feature of the skyline of the Tyrolean capital. Interestingly, the lower levels of the tower were once utilized as a prison.
At the summit, you will behold the striking Bergisel and Patscherkofel mountains, along with the breathtaking Nordkette mountain range and the flowing Eno River. Additionally, iconic landmarks such as the Helbling House, the medieval Katzunghaus, and the renowned Golden Roof, the palace from which the emperor observed local festivities, will be within sight.
