Visit the mountain pass of Jungfraujoch, considered the peak of Europe and declared a World Heritage Site.
Description
We'll meet at 10:45 am at Höheweg, 95. From this central address in Interlaken, we'll travel by bus to the Alpine village of Grindelwald, situated at an altitude of 1,034 metres.
Once in Grindelwald, we'll begin the ascent by Eiger Express cable car to the Glacier Eiger station. From there, we'll set off on a rack train ride to Jungfraujoch, the highest summit in Europe.
At Jungfraujoch, a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, you can enjoy views of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau peaks and experience the Alpine Sensation show. Weather permitting, you can visit the Sphinx observatory and the Plateau viewpoint to see the Aletsch Glacier. You can also explore the tunnels of the Ice Palace.
After approximately 2 hours 30 minutes of free time at Jungfraujoch, we'll return by rack train to Lauterbrunnen. A bus will take us back to Interlaken, arriving at 5:45 pm.
