Inverness Walking Tour

We'll meet at the appointed time on the High Street for our guided tour of Inverness, the capital of the Scottish Highlands.

This tour explores the history of Inverness, starting from its origins as a royal city, through the Jacobite uprisings and castle sieges, to its present life. A stop will be made at Inverness Castle, built in 1836 from red sandstone.

Next, we will visit St. Andrew's Cathedral, the principal religious building in the city, noted for its façade that resembles Notre Dame de Paris.

We will walk along the banks of the Loch Ness River, learning about the legend of the Loch Ness Monster, a notable element of the area's lore.

The tour concludes at the Old High Church, the oldest church in Inverness. The total duration of the tour is 1 hour 30 minutes.
