On this tour through the Colombian department of Nariño, in the Andean region, we'll depart from Ipiales to visit Pasto. This town is notable for its carnival, handicrafts and traditional ice cream.
Pasto Tour
We'll depart at 2 pm from Santander Park in Ipiales heading toward Pasto, an Andean municipality in Nariño.
Upon arrival, we will take a tour of Pasto to visit its main Catholic churches, including the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, San Juan, and La Merced. We will also visit the Plaza de Nariño, located in the historic centre.
Next, we will explore the Carnival Museum, showcasing costumes and clothing worn during local festivities. Subsequently, we'll visit a varnish workshop to see the craftsmanship using an ancestral technique recognized as a Cultural Heritage of Colombia.
After the workshop, we will have the opportunity to try traditional artisan ice cream from Pasto and enjoy a hot cup of Nariño coffee to conclude our tour.
Finally, we will return to the meeting point in Ipiales, arriving by 10 pm.
