Recife & Olinda Day Trip

Would you like to discover two true gems of northeastern Brazil? On this day trip to Recife and Olinda, we’ll enjoy the many charms of two cities rich in history and heritage.

Day Trip Details

After picking you up from your hotel in Porto de Galinhas at the indicated time, we’ll head north to Olinda, protected by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.

We’ll take a walk through its historic center and explore its streets, filled with convents, monasteries, baroque churches, and colorful houses.

Next, we’ll head up to Alto da Sé, the highest point in the city, for a panoramic view of the city and its main landmarks, such as the Sé and Misericórdia churches.

We’ll then leave Olinda and head toward Recife, the capital of Pernambuco. Known as the City of Waters, this 16th-century city is crossed by different rivers and bathed by the sea.

We’ll take a guided tour to enjoy the main highlights of Recife. We’ll walk through Arsenal and explore Rua dos Judeus, see the exterior of the Kahal Zur Israel Synagogue, and visit the Embassy of the Giant Puppets.

We’ll head to Rio Branco Square, also known as Marco Zero, and learn about the historical importance of this site. We’ll admire crafts at the House of Culture and visit the ruins of the Open-Air Museum.

Our final stop will be at Boa Viagem Beach. You’ll have free time to take a catamaran ride along the Capibaribe River, which has earned Recife the nickname of the Brazilian Venice.

Finally, we’ll drop you back at your hotel 7 hours later.
