If you're in Iquique and want to forget about the stresses of a busy life, you'll love our day trip to Mamiña! You'll relax in the hot springs and mud baths while admiring the picturesque scenery.

Day Trip Details

Having picked you up at the designated time from your hotel in Iquique, we'll set off eastbound for Mamiña. This small town, located in Chile's Tarapacá region, is famous throughout the country for its invigorating hot springs.

On our way there, we'll cross a vast desert landscape of candelabra cacti at the foot of several reddish hills. When we get to Mamiña, we'll take a guided tour of the village, walking through the streets, admiring the liparite stone buildings, and pausing at the main square and the church built in 1632.

We'll learn about Mamiña's Quechua roots and centuries-old customs. After visiting the village center, we will go to the Chinese mud hot springs for a relaxing dip and skin exfoliation. Following this, we'll enjoy three local dishes for lunch at a nearby restaurant.

After lunch, we'll visit a cheese factory on the outskirts. Our tour will then continue to the Ipla Hot Springs, a thalassotherapy centre with open-air pools containing water between 40 and 45 degrees, known for therapeutic properties that help relieve muscle and joint pain.

Finally, we will return to your hotel in Iquique, completing a total of 10 hours for the trip.
