3 or 4-Day Yanamono Forest Tour

Day 1: Iquitos - Yanamono Forest

Welcome to Iquitos! We'll pick you up at the airport and head to the port of Iquitos, where we'll board a boat to the Yanamono Forest. After arriving at the lodge, we will visit Isla de los Monos (Monkey Island), a rescue center for primates. After lunch, we'll hike through the Yanamono forest to learn about its biodiversity and take photos. At sunset, we'll sail down the Amazon River to experience the tranquility of the forest and see nocturnal fauna. We will return to the hotel for the night.

Day 2: Yanamono Forest

We will start the second day with an early morning bird watching tour, spotting various bird species in the Yanamono forest. After breakfast at the hotel, we'll visit a community of Indigenous Amazonian Peoples to learn about their lifestyle and traditional techniques. We will then go fishing in the Amazon River and seek out pink dolphins before returning to the hotel for an evening stroll and dinner.

Day 3: Yanamono Forest - Iquitos

After breakfast, we'll take an excursion to see the Victoria Regia water lilies, a notable symbol of the Peruvian Amazon. Following this, we will return to Iquitos, concluding our 3-day tour at the airport.

4 Day Tour

You can extend your Yanamono Forest experience to a 4-day tour with the fourth day dedicated to a canoe trip along the Amazon River.

Accommodation

On both tours, we'll stay at the Heliconia Amazon River Lodge resort with full board. The lodge features rustic-style rooms with high ceilings, panoramic windows, private bathrooms, and terraces with hammocks. Facilities include a swimming pool, a solarium area with hammocks, and a large dining room.

Note about flights

For flights, we recommend:

Outbound flight Lima - Iquitos: arrive before 9 am.Return flight Iquitos - Lima: depart after 6 pm.

Outside these schedules incurs an extra boat transfer fee of 180USD per person, unless you stay overnight in Iquitos before or after the tour.
