Amazon Rainforest 5 Day Tour

Day 1

After hotel pickup in Iquitos, we will travel by boat to our accommodation in the Amazon jungle. There will be a stop to observe native wildlife. Following a buffet lunch, we'll visit the village of Timicurillo to learn about local medicinal plants. Dinner will be followed by an opportunity for a night walk in the jungle.

Day 2

We'll visit Neyser Island to see its reptile sanctuary featuring anacondas, monkeys, and sloths. Next, we'll sail to San Juan de Huashalado to visit the rescue center "El Encanto de Rony," where more wildlife will be encountered. We will also sample aphrodisiac beverages and medicinal concoctions. Later, we will fish in the Amazon River and watch a sunset.

Day 3

We begin with a trip on the Yanayacu River to visit local wildlife, with a chance to swim with pink Amazon river dolphins. Lunch will be at a farmer's home, followed by an evening sunset over the Amazon before dinner.

Day 4

An optional sunrise walk at 4 am is available. We will then take a scenic boat ride to the community of Sinchicuy and visit the indigenous Yagua tribe and the San Rafael community. Additionally, we will explore the Morphohuasi butterfly farm.

Day 5

On the final day, we will sail to Monkey Island to meet the monkeys and visit a fruit and medicine plantation. We will return to the lodge for a final lunch before heading back to Iquitos, arriving around 4 pm.

Itinerary Changes

Due to a drought, we will have to walk for about 30 minutes to reach the lodge.

Accommodation

The tour includes four nights' full-board accommodation at the Amazon Queen Lodge.

Pickup

Pickup is included from hotels in downtown Iquitos; a central meeting point will be provided for those outside this area.
