Day 1

After hotel pickup in Iquitos, we will travel to our accommodation in the Amazon jungle by boat, stopping to observe local wildlife such as piranhas and turtles. Following a buffet lunch, we will visit the village of Timicurillo to learn about local traditions and medicinal plants. The evening includes a dinner and the option for a night walk in the jungle.

Day 2

We will visit Neyser Island for a tour of its reptile sanctuary, observing anacondas and other wildlife. Next, we will sail to San Juan de Huashalado and visit "El Encanto de Rony" rescue center to see various species including toucans. Afterward, we will have the chance to enjoy aphrodisiac beverages and medicinal concoctions. The afternoon includes fishing in the Amazon River and watching a sunset. Dinner will feature stories of the Amazon.

Day 3

On day three, we will explore the Yanayacu River by boat to San Juan de Huashalado and potentially swim with pink Amazon river dolphins. Lunch will be at a local farmer's home. We will conclude the day with dinner and a restful night.

Day 4

For early risers, an optional sunrise walk at 4 am is available. After breakfast, we will take a boat ride to the community of Sinchicuy and visit the Yagua tribe and San Rafael community, as well as the Morphohuasi butterfly farm. An evening stroll will be offered for those who missed the morning walk.

Day 5

On the final day, we will visit Monkey Island and a fruit and medicine plantation. Following a final lunch at the lodge, we will return to Iquitos, expected around 4 pm.

Itinerary Changes

Due to drought, reaching the lodge by boat is not possible, requiring a walk of about 30 minutes instead.

Accommodation

This tour includes four nights' full-board accommodation at the Amazon Queen Lodge.

Pickup is included from hotels in downtown Iquitos. Alternative arrangements will be provided for those outside this area.
