Amazon River: 3 Day Tour

Discover the wild landscapes and native wildlife of the northern Amazon Rainforest on this three-day tour of the Amazon River from Iquitos.

Tour Description

Day 1

On the first day, we will meet at Napo number 326, Iquitos, and proceed to Bellavista port to board a boat for our adventure on the Amazon River. After arriving at our accommodation and enjoying a lunch, there will be free time to relax. In the afternoon, we will take a walk into the rainforest to visit a local Timicurillo indigenous community and learn about their culture.

Day 2

The day begins with breakfast before boarding a boat to Neyser Island, visiting an animal sanctuary where we will see wildlife such as anacondas, monkeys, sloths, and toucans. Next, we will visit the ¨El Encanto de Rony¨ rescue centre at San Juan de Huashalado farm to observe various animals, including parrots.

We will have the opportunity to sample aphrodisiac drinks and medicinal beverages. After lunch, we will fish in the Amazon River and watch the sunset before returning to the lodge for dinner, where we will hear mythical tales and legends of the Amazon.

Day 3

On the final day, participants can opt for a sunrise hike through the jungle, starting at 4:30 am. Following breakfast, we will embark on a boat trip on the Amazon River to visit Sinchicuy, where we will learn about local handicrafts and fishing techniques. We will look for dolphins in the river before returning to the lodge for lunch and heading back to Iquitos, arriving around 4 pm.

Accommodation

The tour includes two nights of full-board accommodation at the Amazon Queen Lodge.
