Amazon River: 3 Day Tour

Experience the breathtaking landscapes and diverse flora and fauna of the northern Amazon Rainforest through this three-day expedition on the Amazon River starting from Iquitos.

Tour Overview

Day 1

Our journey begins when we convene at Napo number 326 in Iquitos at the designated hour, followed by a transfer to Bellavista port for boarding the boat that will launch us into the thrilling waters of the Amazon River.

As we navigate this remarkable river, we will reach our accommodation, greeted by a sumptuous lunch. The afternoon offers you the chance to unwind and prepare for the upcoming activities.

Later in the day, we will regroup for a captivating trek into the rainforest towards a local Timicurillo indigenous community. Here, you will engage with the inhabitants and explore their unique cultural practices and lifestyle adapted to the jungle, before returning to the lodge for a delightful dinner.

Day 2

The second day commences with a substantial breakfast, after which we'll embark on a boat to Neyser Island. Our visit to a wildlife sanctuary will unveil the richness of Amazonian fauna, featuring species like anacondas, as well as monkeys, sloths, and toucans.

Next, we will take a small boat to San Juan de Huashalado farm to explore the renowned “El Encanto de Rony” rescue centre. Here, you'll encounter animals such as anacondas and vibrant blue and red parrots.

Our exploration will include sampling exquisite aphrodisiac drinks like Rompe Calzón, 7 Raíces, Levántate Lázaro, and Espérame en el suelo, among others. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to taste distinct medicinal beverages like Camú Camú, ginger, Sangre de Grado, copaiba oil, and various oils beneficial for bone health.

Post-lunch, we'll set sail in canoes or boats to enjoy fishing in the Amazon River while soaking in the stunning sunset, before returning to the lodge for another enjoyable dinner accompanied by legendary tales of the Amazon.

Day 3

Your final day presents an optional sunrise trek through the jungle. If you decide to embrace this highly recommended experience, we will commence at 4:30 am, allowing you to witness the beautiful dawn over the Amazon.

After breakfast, we’ll reconvene as a group for one last boat excursion on the Amazon River, which will take us to Sinchicuy, an indigenous community famous for its handicrafts and traditional fishing techniques using handmade rods. We’ll also keep an eye out for dolphins swimming in the river.

Finally, we’ll return to the lodge for lunch before departing back to Iquitos, aiming to arrive around 4 pm, concluding our three unforgettable days.

Accommodation

This expedition includes two nights of full-board accommodation at the Amazon Queen Lodge.
