Amazon River: 3 Day Tour

Explore the remarkable terrains and indigenous fauna of the northern Amazon Rainforest with this three-day journey along the Amazon River from Iquitos.

Tour Overview

Day 1

On the initial day, we will convene at 426 Calvo de Araujo Street in Iquitos at the specified time, from where we will head to Bellavista port. Here, we will board a boat to commence our excursion on the Amazon River.

Your first sailing experience on the world's largest river will bring us to our lodging, where a delightful lunch awaits. Following this, you will have some leisure time to unwind before our afternoon activities.

Our next adventure involves a trek into the rainforest, leading us to a local Timicurillo indigenous village. Engaging in conversation with the community members, we will discover insights into their culture and way of life in the jungle before returning to the lodge for dinner.

Day 2

The second day kicks off with a nourishing breakfast, followed by a boat ride along the Amazon to Neyser Island, where we will explore an animal sanctuary. Here, we will become acquainted with the region's wildlife and encounter amazing species including anacondas, monkeys, sloths, and toucans.

Following this, a smaller boat will take us to the San Juan de Huashalado farm to see the “El Encanto de Rony” rescue center. We will observe anacondas, blue and red parrots among other species.

Our exploration continues with the sampling of aphrodisiac beverages like Rompe Calzón, 7 Raíces, Levántate Lázaro, Espérame en el suelo, and many others. Additionally, we will try medicinal drinks made from Camú Camú, ginger, Sangre de Grado, copaiba oil, and more, beneficial for various health concerns.

In the afternoon, we will have the opportunity to fish in the Amazon River while enjoying the sunset. Eventually, we will make our way back to the lodge for dinner, where we will hear intriguing myths and legends of the Amazon.

Day 3

On the final day, you can opt for a sunrise hike through the jungle. For those who choose this recommended experience, our day will begin at 4:30 am, allowing you to witness the dawn breaking over the Amazon.

After breakfast, we will regroup for one last boat journey along the Amazon River heading to Sinchicuy, an indigenous community famous for its handicraft traditions. We will learn about their fishing techniques utilizing handcrafted rods and search for dolphins in the river.

We will return to the lodge for lunch before setting off back to Iquitos, with an estimated arrival time around 4 pm after three unforgettable days.

Accommodation

This three-day experience includes two nights of full-board lodging at the Amazon Queen Lodge.
